My versatile past- time

Knitting and crocheting are perfect activities for me. If I am feeling energetic and creative, I can push myself to create something new and hopefully write the pattern (sometimes there is just no way to communicate what I have done). Other times, I can take the simplest pattern that I have and just knit mindlessly. I can have several projects going at one time, because I either don't have what I need to finish one at the moment, or I'm just in the mood for something else. I think I have four projects going right now.

Summer fashion scarves

I'm currently working on my summer line of scarves. I have one listed so far basically because my husband took the camera with him to a weekend seminar, so I haven't been able to take pictures of the other two. I need to take better pictures of this one though. I was looking for something light and airy for summer and found this great yarn in this shop's going out of business sale. I got lots of it because this yarn is no longer sold in the US. So, when I use it up, I will have to find something else hoping it isn't too expensive.

It's 83" long but its stretches when worn, because it's so light that the weight of it stretches it. It's stretchy anyway, and there are so many ways to wear it. I will enjoy this scarf myself, because I get so cold when I go into air conditioned buildings, yet it will be light enough to wear outside.

A steal- a sweater for me

This project is from a kit, but I couldn't pass it up. The owner of the yarn shop was going out of business, and this kit was marked down from $120 to $40. The yarn alone was worth more than that. Its a gorgeous pattern anyway. Well, except that I'm finding that one of the yarns is running out, so I will have to leave it out of the sleaves. I was hoping that there would be enough left to make a scarf of many colors. It doesn't look like that is going to happen. Well, I can use a new sweater anyway. Almost all of mine are too big.

One of the great things about this project is that it has inspired me to create a sweater pattern that compliments one of my scarf patterns to approach a local boutique with. I'm going to mull it over and try to perfect it this summer. Hopefully it will be ready by winter.
